What's on

Most of our meetings are held online via Zoom - the link to each meeting is available in our Slack discussion group (open to members only). On the first Tuesday of each month we try to hold an in-person meeting during the day at a central venue in the city. Again, details of these meetings are available in our Slack discussion groups.

August
  • 26th Aug - New Members session - an open invitation to prospective new members to meet existing Club members and to learn more about the Aberdeen Camera Club. All welcome.
September
  • 2nd Sep - In-person meeting at the Art Gallery - first Tuesday of the month at 10.30am
  • 9th Sep - Open Night - discussion of exhibitions, photographic salons and our competition schedule. 
  • 16th Sep - An exhibition from a national salon of photography.
  • 23rd Sep - Internal Presentation - Neil Blair - "Aberdeen Edwardian West End".
  • 30th Sep - Photos from an exhibition plus members night (show & tell).
October
  • 7th Oct - In-person meeting at the Art Gallery - first Tuesday of the month at 10.30am.
  • 14th Oct - External Presentation - Ken Lindsay - "Making the most out of
    your images".
  • 21st Oct - Discussion of photographs from a national salon of photography.
  • 28th Oct - "One for All" event - the results of the photo processing challenge - see how your images might be interpreted and processed by other members.

November
  • 4th Nov - In-person meeting at the Art Gallery - first Tuesday of the month at 10.30am.
  • 11th Nov - The Scottish Photographic Federation's Annual Portfolios exhibition- the best of Scottish Club photography (part 1)
    Closing date for entries for the 1st Monthly competition [Judge: Adrian Lines].
  • 18th Nov - External Presentation - Richard Speirs - "Composition and working
    with light".
  • 25th Nov - External Presentation - Susan Clark - Is photography art?
    If     time allows, there will also be an opportunity for constructive analysis and
    feedback on images being prepared for our next monthly competition.

December

  • 6th Jan - Presentation - "Architecture" - a talk by Ian Howard (this replaces our usual in-person meeting).

  • 20th Jan - The Scottish Photographic Federation's Annual Portfolios exhibition- the best of Scottish Club photography (part 2).
  • 27th Jan - Presentation - to be confirmed.
    Submission of i    mages for upcoming inter-Club competition between ourselves and Malling Photographic Society.

February
  • 3rd Feb - In-person meeting at the Art Gallery - first Tuesday of the month at 10.30am.
  • 10th Feb - External Presentation - Neil Scott - "What makes a good photo?".
  • 17th Feb - The results from a friendly inter-Club competition versus Malling Photographic Society.
    (also final hand-in date for all club entries for the 2026 Grampian Eye).

March

    Closing date for entries for the Contemporary Aberdeen 2025.
  • 10th Mar - Critique session - an opportunity to provide commentary on images entered for Club’s 4th monthly competition.
  • 17th Mar - Presentation - Rob Buchan CPAGB BPE2- "A trip to St Kilda".
  • 24th Mar - Results from the 4th Monthly competition [Judge: Paul Burwood]
    Closing date for entries to the Annual Portfolio competition [Judge: David Kissman].
April
  • 7th Apr - In-person meeting at the Art Gallery - first Tuesday of the month at 10.30am.
  • 14th Apr - Dingwall National Projected Image Exhibition. A selection of the images accepted into the most recent exhibition run by the Dingwall Camera Club.
  • 21st Apr - Presentation by Club member Sushil Kumar.
  • 25th Apr - (Saturday) Grampian Eye 2026 event held at UHI Moray College, Moray Street, Elgin
  • 28th Apr - Results from the Club's Annual Portfolio Competition [Judge: David Kissman]
May
