What's On - 2026-27
This is a preliminary version of our events programme for our 2026-27 season (beginning at the end of August). It is subject to change.
Most of our meetings are held online via Zoom - the link to each meeting is available in our Slack discussion group (open to members only). On the first Tuesday of each month we try to hold an in-person meeting during the day at a central venue in the city. Again, details of these meetings are available in our Slack discussion groups.

  • 25th Aug - New Member Open Evening - an open invitation for current members and a warm welcome to prospective new members to meet up to discuss the forward programme and the aims and ambitions of Aberdeen Camera Club.
  • 1st Sep - In-person Meeting at the Art Gallery - first Tuesday of the month at 10.30 hrs to view exhibitions and offer advice and discussion on topics of interest
  • 8th Sep - Open Night - discussion of exhibitions, salons and dates for competitions. Selection and proposals for One for All images 
  • 15th Sep - Rushden or Alternative Open Photographic Exhibition - an excerpt from an annual exhibition followed by a discussion of the entries
  • 22nd Sep - Internal Presentation - TBA  Submit One for All images for editing (results due for display on 27th October)
  • 6th Oct - In-personMeeting at the Art Gallery - first Tuesday of the month at 10.30 hrs to view exhibitions and discuss activities - possible outdoor practical session
  • 13th Oct - External Presentation - Andrew Mills - Japan Photojournal   Start of photo processing challenge. Edinburgh digital salon entries.
  • 20th Oct - Rushden or Equivalent Open Photographic Exhibition - an excerpt from this annual exhibition followed by a discussion of the entries. Reminder of Images for one for all photo processing challenge.
  • 27th Oct - One for All - the results of a photo processing challenge - see how your photo is interpreted and processed by other members
  • 4rd Nov - In-person Meeting at the Art Gallery - First Tuesday of the month at 10.30 hrs to discuss topics of interest and view possible exhibitions. 
  • 10th Nov - External Presentation - Aerial Photography - Peter Duffus - Closing date for 1st Monthly competition - Judge Andrew Mills 
  • 17th Nov - External Presentation - TBC (George Robertson - Possibly Winter and Aurora Photography)              
  • 24th Nov - External Presentation - A Life with the British Antarctic Survey. - Michael Glostein. If time allows critique session - an opportunity to provide constructive analysis and feedback on images being prepared for entry at the Club’s monthly competition.
  • 1st Dec - In-person Meeting at the Art Gallery - first Tuesday of the month at 10.30 hrs to discuss topics of interest and view possible exhibitions.
  • 8th Dec - Results from the 1st Monthly Competition - Judge - Andrew Mills + Closing date for the 2nd Monthly Competition - Judge Karen Berry
  • 15th Dec - External or Internal Presentation TBA

  • 12th Jan - Scottish Photographic Federation Annual Portfolios - the best of Scottish Club photography. Critique of images for 3rd monthly competition
  •  19th Jan Results from 2nd Monthly competition - Judge - Karen Berry   - Closing date for 3rd Monthly competition - Judge Sue Sibley   Images to be submitted for inter. Club PDI - reminder. Images in for the Grampian Eye - choices in by 16th February (judging on Saturday 24th February.
  • 26th Jan - External Presentation - The Art of Judging - Avoiding Embarrassment - Bob Humphries + Discuss Images for three way club competition Inter Club PDI vs West Malling
  • 2nd Feb - In-person Meeting at the Art Gallery - monthly meeting to discuss topics of interest and view possible exhibitions
  • 9th Feb - External or Internal Presentation - TBA.
  • 16th Feb - External or Internal Presentation - TBA
  • 23rd Feb - Results from the 3rd Monthly competition - Judge Sue Sibley - Entries for the 4th monthly competition -Robert Collie 
  • 2nd Mar - Meeting at the Art Gallery - monthly meeting to discuss topics of interest and view possible exhibitions. Entries to the Contemporary Aberdeen - Year 2025
  • 9th Mar - Critique session - an opportunity to provide constructive analysis and feedback on images being proposed for entry at the Club’s 4th monthly competition.
  • 16th Mar - Results from the 4th Monthly competition Judge Robert Collie and closing date for the Annual Portfolio competition - Judge TBA.
  • 23rd Mar Internal Presentation - Rob Buchan - India in Photographs
  • 30th Mar TBA - External or Internal Presentation + Photos for the three way competition.
  • 6th Apr - Meeting at the Art Gallery - monthly meeting to discuss topics of interest and view possible exhibitions
  • 13th Apr - Dingwall National Projected Image Exhibition. A selection of the images accepted into the most recent exhibition run by the Dingwall Camera Club followed by discussion of the accepted images.
  • 20th Apr - Internal Presentation -TBA. 
  • 27th Apr - Results from the Annual Portfolio Competition - Judge -TBA.
  • 4th May - In-person Meeting at the Art Gallery - monthly meeting to discuss topics of interest and view possible exhibitions.
